Soil

Soil is a top layer of Earth's crust, which is fertile. Soil fertility is nothing but its ability to simultaneously provide the plant with water, essential elements of food, air, and create for them an enabling environment for growth and development. Plant crop is a result of this activity. The main indicator of soil fertility is humus- an essential part of soil organic matter. Consequently, the natural sign of soil health is the presence of earthworms in it. The moreworms are in the soil, the more humus is in it.

Humus is the most powerful organic source of carbon dioxide for plants.

The summer is short in Estonia therefore the timing for the active work of worms and microorganisms in the soil surface is insufficient for complete deep processing of dying organic matters. Thus, the accumulation of humus in the soil is a very long process.

If we process any organic waste with the help of worms and use the worm coprolites as soil fertilizer, the results, we can achive, will be simply stunning.

The Company «Green-pik» domesticated the technology of industrial production of humus (bio-humus, worm-compost) on the basis of converting the organic waste and animal husbandry.
