Earthworms as pharmaceuticals to treat human diseases |

There are many reports suggesting that earthworms and extracts from them are used to treat a number of human diseases in China and other Asian countries. It is such human diseases as arthritis, male infertility, cardiovascular disease, thrombosis, asthma, ulcers, foot, eczema and inflammatory tissues. Some bioactive components that have pharmaceutical properties, have been identified and studied in earthworms.
