Vermicompost

Vermicompost is an ecologically pure organic fertilizer, the product of processing manure with assistance of technological earthworms Staratel. This concentrated fertilizer contains the whole balanced complex of essential nutrients and microelements, enzymes, soil antibiotics, vitamins, growth-promoting hormones. It also contains a lot of humic substances. Vermicompost is a unique microbiological fertilizer with the community of useful soil microorganisms improving soil fertility.

Vermicompost does not contain pathogenic microflora, helminth eggs, weed seeds and heavy metals. The fertilizer is easily and gradually assimilated by plants within their life cycle. The fertilizer improves agrochemical characteristics, increases quality and yields of agricultural crops.

Efficiency

— vermicompost quickly restores natural soil fertility, improves its structure and health;

— vermicompost is highly effective: plants and seeds immediately respond to it;

— vermicompost reduces seed germination period, promotes plant growth and blossom, fruits ripen 2-3 weeks earlier;

— vermicompost provides plants with durable immunity, increasing their resistance to stress, unfavorable environmental conditions, bacterial and putrefactive diseases;

— vermicompost provides high seedlings survival, optimum growth of flowers, and full blossom;

— vermicompost considerably increases yield capacity and improves taste of the production grown;

— vermicompost binds heavy metals and radionuclides in soil, prevents plants from accumulating nitrates;

— vermicompost provides high sustained ecologically pure yields

Properties

Vermicompost is in fact the castings or coprolites of earthworms. It is a black crumby soil-like matter smelling pleasant and looking like black earth.

Vermicompost contains a great amount (up to 32% per dry weight) of humic substances — humic and fulvic acids, humates. The organic fertilizer is provided with high agrochemical and growth stimulant characteristics. All nutrients are balanced and biologically available compounds for plants. Vermicompost does not contain any pathogenic microorganisms, helminth eggs, weed seeds and heavy metals. Moreover it contains a unique community of useful soil and plant microorganisms. When vermicompost is applied they inhibit soil, excrete phytohormones, antibiotics, fungicide and antibacterial compounds that help control pathogenic microflora. Eventually soil is improved and many wide-spread plant diseases are eliminated.

Chemical composition

Thus, vermicompost is a highly efficient and ecologically pure organic fertilizer that improves agrochemical characteristics, increases quality and yield capacity of agricultural products.

Besides, vermicompost possesses excellent physicochemical properties: water stability of structure (95-97%) and total water capacity (200-250%). Thus the fertilizer is considered to be a fine ameliorant and soil improver.

Instruction

Vermicompost Green-PIK (biohumus) is a waste product of the earthworms "Staratel". It is a dry small-grained matter with 1-3mm granules. This is the best new Russian natural organic fertilizer.

Vermicompost is a concentrated fertilizer containing the whole balanced complex of essential nutrients and microelements, enzymes, soil antibiotics, vitamins, growth-promoting hormones. It also contains a lot of humic substances. Vermicompost is a microbiological fertilizer as well, with the community of useful soil microorganisms improving soil fertility. Vermicompost does not contain pathogenic microflora, helminth eggs, pathogenic protozoan cysts, larvae of synanthropic flies and weed seeds. The fertilizer is easily and gradually assimilated by plants within their life cycle.

Vermicompost is the main organic fertilizer for planting and feeding of all agricultural crops, forestry, and flower cultivation as well as soil reclamation.

Add vermicompost to the open ground since early spring till late autumn. Vermicompost is an organic fertilizer of prolonged action. It is effective during 4 - 7 years.

Use vermicompost to control insects, because there is a high concentration of chitinase producing microorganisms in it that break down chitin (the substance forming exoskeleton of insects). Add vermicompost to soil around plants to control insects or make vermicompost «tea», a liquid solution of vermicompost, or collect liquid from the worm bin and use it to sprinkle leaves during vegetation.

Vermicompost fights insects effectively during 6 months.

To make mixed soil for seedlings of vegetables and flowers

mix one part of vermicompost with 3-5 parts of humus or peat;

To make potting soil for flowers

mix one part vermicompost with 4-5 parts soil

When sowing herbaceous crops in ridges (parsley, lettuce, dill, spinach, etc.)

distribute vermicompost over the ridge, mix it with soil and water, and then seed. Apply 0.5-1 kg of vermicompost to 1 sq.m. of the ridge.

When transplanting tomatoes, cucumbers and pepper to the open ground

add 100-200 g of vermicompost to each hole, mix it with soil, water abundantly and transplant. After transplanting cucumbers mulch soil around a plant and apply a 1-2cm layer of vermicompost.

When planting potato

add 100-200 g of vermicompost to each tuber.

When planting strawberry

add 150-200 g of vermicompost to each hole.

When planting winter garlic

apply 0.5 kg of vermicompost and mix it with soil at a depth of 10 cm.

When planting bushes (gooseberry, currant, etc.)

add 1.5 kg of vermicompost to a plant hole, mix it with soil carefully, and water.

When planting fruit trees

add 2 kg of vermicompost to a plant hole of each transplant (apple, pear, cherry, plump, etc.) and mix it with soil.

To feed plants during vegetation

apply 0.5 kg of vermicompost around stems or between the ridges once a month per 1 sq.m., mix it up and water.

To feed bushes and fruit trees

distribute 0.5 kg of vermicompost over 1 sq.m. of soil according to the crown diameter.

To feed flowers and decorative plants in the open ground

add 150-200 g of vermicompost monthly to each plant or 0.5 kg per one sq.m. of the flower-bed, lawn.

To feed house plants

add 2-3 tablespoonfuls of vermicompost to each plant.

To water seedlings and house plants

make an aqueous extract, the so-called vermicomposting “tea”,: put 1 glass of vermicompost into a bucket of room temperature water. Mix it properly and leave it for 24 hrs. This “tea” contains water soluble fractions of vermicompost (vitamins, phytohormones, humates, fulvates, etc.), as well as microflora useful for soil and plants. Soak cabbage, cucumber and tomato seeds in the solution for 12 hrs for better germination.
To water garden crops, dilute the “tea” 3 times more: 1 glass of solution + 2 glasses of water. The solution is good for sprinkling fruit trees. Sprinkling apple trees after blossom, in the beginning of fruit drop and fruit buds initiation, increases trees capacity (fruits are bigger, richer, and sweeter). Sprinkling in the period of fruit buds initiation is good for yield capacity of the next year. Mulching of soil and application of a 1-2cm vermicompost layer to the area around fruit trees (according to the crown diameter) makes fruiting of apple, cherry, black cherry and plum trees annual. This method of humus application is beneficial for gooseberry, currant, raspberry, and grape-vine. In this case outcome increases as much as 33% and ripening periods are 10-15 days shorter.
Sprinkling flower crops with the "tea" three times within 7-8 days makes them grow and blossom 7-10 days earlier. It also makes the color of leaves more intensive and improves decorative appearance and quality of flowers. Follow the safety standards when working with vermicompost.
Vermicompost is safe for people, animals and bees.

Recommendations

Apply fertilizer Vermicompost in the open ground any time of the year, even in late autumn and don’t fear it may loose components that enrich soil with rain and melt water during winter-spring period. For 4 years the fertilizer will be providing plants with all the things needed.

Vermicompost is most effectively used for digging-in when planting of such perennials as roses, ornamental plants, decorative grass, conifer seedlings, etc.

— Small plants - 1/6 from the size of the hole. Harrow the fertilizer into the soil around the roots (350 g/sq.m.)
— Bushes - 1/5 from the size of the hole when planting, then according to the crown diameter (350 g/sq.m. per year).
— Trees - 1/4 from the size of the hole when planting, then - 350 g/sq.m. according to the crown diameter every year.
— When transplanting, add 100-200 g of vermicompost (or even more) to the hole and mix it with soil.
— Potato is rather responsive to vermicompost; add 100-200 g of vermicompost (or even more) to each planting hole together with seeds.
— When transplanting cucumbers, mulch soil near plants and fertilize it with vermicompost (1-2cm layer).
— Vermicompost is necessary for tomatoes. When transplanting, add 100-200 g of it to the hole.
— Strawberry begins to blossom and ripen 7-10 days earlier; it will be more beautiful, dapper and sweeter, and the yield will be bigger in case you mulch the ridge and apply vermicompost in spring.
— It’s better not to trench the ground around fruit trees, but apply a 2-3cm layer of humus according to the crown diameter every year. Fruits will be nicer, bigger, more fragrant and tasty.

Application doses are still the same when growing plants under cover, although it’s enough even if tubbing or potting.

Non-chloric fertilizer Vermicompost provides high tilling capacity and fuzziness that are important for growing conifers or other ornamental plants and it is not harmful. The fertilizer is effective for growing flowers in the open ground as well as at home.

Add 250g of fertilizer to 1kg pots.

In different plants leaves increase in size, they are 1.5-2 times bigger if compared to control plants, the color of leaves and flowers is more intensive, lateral buds quickly develop and florification begins earlier.

Make an aqueous extract, the so-called vermicomposting “tea”, to water seedlings and house plants: put 1 glass of Vermicompost to a bucket of room temperature water. Mix it properly and leave it for 24 hrs. This “tea” contains water soluble fractions of vermicompost (vitamins, phytohormones, humates, fulvates, etc.) as well as microflora useful for soil and plants. Don’t throw away drains from the bucket – this is an excellent feeding for house plants.

Soak cabbage, cucumber and tomato seeds in this solution. It’s better to do it overnight. Soak period - 12 hrs. For instance, germinating ability of seeds can increase up to 95% vs. 70% of control seeds soaked in water.
Dilute the solution of vermicompost “tea” 3 times more to water plants (1 glass of "tea" + 2 glasses of water). Water seedlings and all vegetables and fruit trees with the solution. In this case outcome increases as much as 33% and ripening periods are 10-15 days shorter.

Such vermicompost "tea" is good for sprinkling fruit trees. Sprinkling trees after flowering, in the beginning of fruit cast and flower-bud initiation provides fruit growth (early August), increasing trees capacity (fruits are bigger, more beautiful, colorful, juicy and sweeter). Sprinkling in the period of flower-bud initiation is good for the next year yields.

Application of vermicompost shows excellent results in decorative flower gardening as well. It provides early seedlings production with better establishment, splendid blossom of flower crops, increase of flower’s diameter and their number. Vermicompost stimulates root formation and overground part of grafted plants development.
Sprinkling flower crops with the "tea" three times during 7-8 days makes them grow and blossom 7-10 days earlier. It also makes the color of leaves more intensive and improves decorative appearance and quality of flowers.
